The Mirador zone sits at the very north of Lanzarote, near Mirador del Río — the famous César Manrique viewpoint. With NE winds the ridge produces some of the most photogenic flights on the island.
Why fly here
- The view. Nowhere else on Lanzarote do you launch with La Graciosa filling the horizon and the northern coast stretching out below you.
- Almost no walk. Park, kit up, and launch. The site is uniquely accessible.
- Smooth coastal lift. When the trade winds set up clean from the NE, the ridge gives steady, predictable soaring at around 400 m.
What to expect on the day
The drive north on the LZ-1 is part of the experience — past Arrieta and Haría, climbing through the laurisilva. At the top you'll find the mirador and your launch site. Briefing, kit-up, and a flight that takes in the entire northern coast.
