Macher
A tandem flight you'll remember for the rest of your trip
About This Flying Site
Soar over southern Lanzarote with sweeping views down to Playa Blanca, Papagayo's golden beaches, and Fuerteventura on the horizon. Our go-to flight on warm winter days.

The Wind Decides Where We Fly
Lanzarote's wind shifts daily — north cliffs, south slopes, or coastal sites depending on conditions. Your pilot picks the best one the morning of your flight; you're booking the experience, not the location.
Macher is one of our regular sites — if conditions line up on your date, this is where you'll fly.

More about Macher
Mácher sits on the southern flank of the island, between the airport and the resort coast. The takeoff on Tinasoria / Guardilama at around 450 m rewards pilots with thermal flying and a long view down to the Atlantic.
Why fly here
- The thermal site. When S to SE winds pair with sun on the slope, Mácher delivers more active conditions than any of the coastal sites — the kind of flight where you actually climb instead of just gliding down.
- Winter sweet spot. The site comes alive between November and March, when the south-facing aspect picks up the low winter sun and the seabreeze cycles work cleanly.
- Coastal panorama. The view stretches from the airport runway across the salt flats to the resort coast and beyond.
What to expect on the day
Expect a brisker, more dynamic flight than at coastal launches. You may feel the wing react to thermals — that's the lift doing its job. Flight times are weather-dependent but typically 15–30 minutes.
Best for
Anyone curious about what real thermal flying feels like, and pilots who want the longest air time available on the island in winter.
